"I can’t recommend Josh enough. I had a number of consultations with him post lockdown and his advice is practical and really works. I have picked up so many good habits and I also learnt that healthy food can be delicious. Who knew!"

"I have no hesitation in recommending Josh, I found his advice to be really useful and worthwhile. I now feel I understand what my priorities are in terms of food and the benefits that result. The great thing I found about working with Josh is that he looks to identify what will work for you as an individual, no changes are forced on you. I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Josh, my only regret is that I didn't meet him earlier."
-Alan K

I’ve learnt so much and feel much more confident in being able to make better choices in my eating habits. I really love the all inclusive approach. Nothing is restricted. I’ve learnt to build new habits that are realistic and sustainable. Thanks Josh.”

Common Questions
-
Dietitians and nutritionists both specialise in diet and nutrition, but there are key differences between the two professions:
Dietitians:
Education: Dietitians are required to have a degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, and as part of this, must complete a dietetic placement.
Regulation: Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law, and are governed by an ethical code to ensure that they always work to the highest standard.
Scope of Practice: Dietitians are qualified to work in clinical settings, such as hospitals and healthcare facilities, where they can provide medical nutrition therapy and manage diet-related health conditions. They can also work in community settings, research, and public health.
Nutritionists:
Education and Certification: The term "nutritionist" is less regulated and can vary widely in terms of education and certification. Some nutritionists may have advanced degrees and certifications, while others may have less formal training.
Regulation: In many places, the title "nutritionist" is not regulated, meaning anyone can call themselves a nutritionist regardless of their level of training or education.
Scope of Practice: Nutritionists often work in wellness, public health, and community settings, providing general advice on healthy eating and lifestyle. They may not have the qualifications to provide clinical nutrition therapy for medical conditions.
At Athrú Dietetics, you will work with highly trained dietitians who provide personalised and evidence-based nutrition advice to help you achieve your health goals. We ensure that you receive the highest standard of care tailored to your specific needs.
